Industry Trends

1. Deterministic Networking has become a rigid requirement for Industry 4.0 upgrades. End-to-end solutions integrating Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and optical networks are now the core access criterion for projects in European and American smart manufacturing, smart grid, and oil and gas sectors.

2. Accelerated regionalization of supply chains. Europe and the U.S. are pushing to build localized industrial control supply chains, with leading vendors including Siemens, Hirschmann, Cisco, and Nokia dominating the market, while small and medium-sized manufacturers focus on vertical niche segments.

3. Green and low-carbon performance has become a mandatory bidding threshold. Driven by ESG compliance, equipment with low power consumption and high energy efficiency is a must-have for project tenders.

4. Continuously expanding application scenarios. Adoption is rapidly expanding from traditional industrial control to new energy wind and photovoltaic (PV), intelligent rail transit, underground mines, digital twin factories and other high-growth fields.

Technology Advances in Industrial Switches

1. Deep convergence of TSN and industrial wireless. 10 Gigabit TSN switches are fully mainstream, delivering end-to-end microsecond-level deterministic latency in tandem with 5G-A and Wi-Fi 7, with mass commercial deployment already completed.

2. Continuous bandwidth upgrade. 25G high-density ports are in large-scale commercial use, and 100G uplink ports have entered pilot programs in high-end scenarios, matching the high-bandwidth demands of industrial AI and machine vision.

3. Inherent security is now standard. All compliant products fully meet the IEC 62443 international industrial control security standard, with built-in Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and global standard encryption algorithms to satisfy strict regulatory requirements.

4. Deep integration of edge computing. Mid-to-high end switches come with native edge processing capabilities, enabling on-device AI inference and data preprocessing to significantly reduce cloud dependency.

Technology Advances in Industrial PON

1. 10G XGS-PON is fully established as the mainstream for industrial scenarios. Symmetrical 10G bandwidth has been mass-deployed in smart grids, oil and gas fields, and rail transit, while GPON is gradually phased out of new build projects.

2. 50G PON has entered the pilot commercial phase. Vendors including Nokia, in partnership with European and American carriers, have launched pilots in industrial scenarios such as power and smart cities, to support the ultra-high bandwidth needs of digital twins and the industrial metaverse.

3. International standards for PON-TSN convergence are fully mature. TSN-enabled industrial PON devices are available in mass production, delivering end-to-end deterministic latency for stable performance in real-time industrial services such as motion control.

4. Explosive growth in Fiber-to-the-Machine (FTTM) use cases. PON networks are extended directly to production line equipment, replacing traditional industrial Ethernet cabling, and have become the go-to solution for smart factory upgrades overseas.
